adapter plate is back from the machine shop!
IMG_4046.JPG
spacers have been turned on the lathe and motor bolt holes aligned to within 5/10000" and drilled
IMG_4030.JPG
motor adapter hub is all done! it will fit on the pilot shaft just like the original crankshaft
IMG_4034.JPG
motor shaft shortened 1/8"
IMG_4038.JPG
hub is on, with lots of never-cease
IMG_4043.JPG
slick, eh?
IMG_4048.JPG
and the flywheel...now THIS is cool
IMG_4061.JPG
tight but perfect fit
IMG_4049.JPG
we need a bigger shop!
IMG_4041.JPG
clutch parts
IMG_4058.JPG
new throwout bearing and fresh grease
IMG_4040.JPG
old and new clutch slaves
IMG_4050.JPG
the old one has a hole for a spring...
IMG_4051.JPG
and NOW the new one does too! freakin' aftermarket crap.
IMG_4057.JPG
NICE
IMG_4064.JPG
hmm, my eyes seem to be closed. maybe this explains why I keep bumping into things...
IMG_4098.JPG
OH CRAP! NOT AGAIN!! yep, motor hub #2 is a no-go. 9/1000" wobble (4.5/1000 off center). I've only been working on it since december.
IMG_4065.JPG
all sandblasted, time for some paint! after 6 hours of blasting with my shoddy cheap blaster and incompetent air compressor, during which I managed to clean a rediculously insignificant portion of my suspension parts, I finally gave up and took everything to a shop with a big blaster.
IMG_4068.JPG
mmm, smell that POR-15 goodness
IMG_4070.JPG
it's like...powder coating in a can! wonderful stuff that POR-15. a little bit goes a long way, and at 31 bucks a quart plus shipping, it's a damn good thing
IMG_4072.JPG
isocyanates are my favorite.
IMG_4078.JPG
now my suspension will never rust! nor for that matter will my hands, arms, face, shirt, pants, shoes, plywood, or driveway.
IMG_4069.JPG
looks a far sight better now, doesn't it?
IMG_3793
would you put this strut into your Z car? ...
IMG_4104.JPG
oh yeah? and how about THIS one?!!
IMG_4076.JPG
even did the rotors
IMG_4082.JPG
and the drums
IMG_4087.JPG
EV parts! clockwise from upper left: 500V Emeter prescaler, the biggest mofo circuit breaker ever, lights for the ammeter, once of the two biggest mofo shunts you'll ever see, 1000A ammeter, 1000A Emeter (Oh yeah!), a quarter, and the other biggest mofo shunt you'll ever see!
IMG_4084.JPG
the biggest mofo circuit breaker ever
IMG_4088.JPG
one of the last 1000A Emeters! can you read the scale on that ammeter? oh baby!
