the other biggest mofo shunt you'll ever see
inertia switch, manufactured by first inertia for Ford Motor Company
you're welcome!
you too order $673 of Z parts and maybe LMC will send you a thank you card too! dear LMC, you're welcome. now you're rich and I'm broke. damn.
guess I might as well throw in one of the Hawk for good measure.
can I hold up my new fender AND take a photo at the same time? I can!
new rear fender and a fresh grinding wheel
or just get some duct tape
preliminary cut
the undercoating does fun stuff when you use the grinder... my shirt looks like this too.
guess it's time for a new grinding wheel...sure got my 25 cents worth out of this one!
drilling out the spotwelds makes life a lot easier. even if you miss the spotwelds. oh well.
the left side of the photo is the driver's side door. the mangled bit of metal is part of the old fender.
spotwelds drilled out all along door area and underneath. still solid metal in there! thank you tuff-kote dinol.
the inner rear fender is rusty outside of the water seal. behind the water seal where the undercoating is, the fender is solid. black sharpie line is where the new fender top is. I'm leaving +- 1" overlap between old and new
some of the bad stuff in the bottom area. solid metal underneath undercoating
new fender fits in like so...
looks like I get to be creative where the inner fender is supposed to meet outer...
the furthest rear area is ok
done grinding for now
is it just me or did my Z get longer when I cut out the fender?
and now, the passenger side!
damn, some more of the bad stuff. that's the passenger side door on the right
space is tight so it's hard to get a good solid photo of the fender area...
does zooming in help?
hmm, think I can reuse this fender? :)
if not, then maybe this one. damn, did all that crap come out of my car?!
el shop.
what a cool looking car.
what a wicked cool looking car.
